Renee Busch has committed to another season with Sevenoaks Suns after re-signing for the 2022-23 campaign.
The GB international guard is the first player to be announced for the upcoming season in what will be a seventh successive year playing in the WBBL.
“We are very happy to have Renee back for another season,” commented head coach Len Busch. “She’s such a good shooter that she creates space for everyone else. She is also our defensive leader on the floor and we’re lucky to have her.”
Busch re-joined the club in the 2016-17 season following a four-year stay at The University of Pennsylvania and has been part of Sevenoaks’ success in the league with eight pieces of silverware collected.
The sharpshooter was second in made three-pointers in the WBBL Championship last season with averages of 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in league play.
Busch turned out in the inaugural Hoopsfix Pro-Am this summer and was also an assistant coach with GB’s Under-16 Women as they competed in the European Championship, Division B in Podgorica, Montenegro.
Sevenoaks step up their preparations for the new season without star player Cat Carr, who retired following the Play-Offs final in May, with more announcements to follow over the next week.
