U12 BOYS WITH A STRONG START (4-0)

Sevenoaks Suns U12 boys have started the season in excellent fashion, playing 4 games and going unbeaten. So far they have faced Richmond Girls U12, Woking Blackhawks U12, Chargers Cougars U12 and Spartans Basketball U12.

Coach Nauris is full of praise for the boys, lauding their effort and enthusiasm for the game.

‘It is incredible to see how kids at their age can have this passion to fight for every loose ball, work on defense, not even giving the opposition any time to think, always putting on pressure and the most important bit is that the boys are slowly bonding and creating great team chemistry.’

Amongst their unbeaten run was a victory in the last game over Spartan Academy, by far the side’s most important of the season. It was a meeting between two unbeaten teams looking to take the top spot in the league. The boys edged the game 35-33, which had an ending described as ‘nerve-wracking’ by the Coach. However it was all worth it to see the boys celebrate as if they had won the NBA title, with Nauris adding, ‘This is why we play, for these great emotions and wonderful memories. Team effort and big hearts. This is how I would characterise the boys.’

The Suns are now preparing for an upcoming matchup with the Surrey Rams, their final opponent before moving up to Division 1 as they look to finish 5-0.
